8-Bit Black and White Glory

In case you haven’t heard of or played the game Canabalt yet, I suggest you immediately go do so, and make sure that your volume is turned up as loud as possible. It’s a retro-looking sidescrolling game that asks you to do only one thing: Run for your life. The only control you have is when your character jumps, and getting the timing down can be very frustrating, but very addicting. The game measures the distance you run, and the goal is obviously to run the furthest distance. The music in this game is cool enough to stand on its own, so as I mentioned before, make sure your speakers are on. You can play at the game’s official site, or you can play over at Kongregate so that you can compare your scores to your friends’ scores. If you do use Kongregate, go ahead and add me to your friends, my username is braveyoungjables.

Songs To Play Video Games To : Free-For-All

As we all know, Free-For-All multiplayer is the only true test of one’s skills when it comes to video gaming. With no teammates to blame your lousy score on, you’d better buck up and find a way to win. If I may make a suggestion?

You need a soundtrack. Know why? Cuz you’re a badass, and badasses have their own soundtracks. You can’t just know that you rule and have that be enough, trust me. You need constant musical reminders of just how truly dominant you are. I find that trash-talking on a headset, while fun, gets old pretty quickly, and can actually be quite a distraction when it comes time to actually play. With a soundtrack playing, there is no need to talk shit. It’s like having a group of people behind you at a fight, yelling loudly at your opponent about how he is about to get rocked. Except it doesn’t smell like beer and there’s no risk of the cops being called. Now that we’re on the same page, I present to you the first song on your Free-For-All Soundtrack:

While I use this Soundtrack method primarily for MW3, I’m certain that it could be used in any competitive game. Happy Hunting, Professor Badass!

Foreigners Always Make Great Rock Bands

Case in point: Volbeat, a Danish rock band who sounds a bit like Clutch, in a very good way.
Every time I hear the lead singer for this band speak, it immediately reminds me of that clip from Family Guy;

Now watch this awesome video and tell me that he doesn’t sound  exactly like those foreign guys. Not that I am complaining, mind you. I honestly really like this band. Their music just begs to be played as loud as possible at a party somewhere.

AM I RIGHT!? (That’s a rhetorical question)
